01Overview

The physical layer of connectivity.

Every connection relies on a physical route. Optical fibre cable (OFC) infrastructure is the ducts, crossings and cable runs that carry telecom networks beneath roads and corridors.

Acuity StoneDrill’s first chapter was telecom and OFC work for Vodafone Idea (VIL), executed through DEPL — including a 47.6 km OFC route between Dhaulapur, Rajakhera and Shamasabad.

We combine trenchless crossings with route execution so that fibre networks can be built with less disruption at the surface.

02Process

How the work runs.

  1. 01

    Route survey

Alignment walk-down, crossings identified and existing services located.

  2. 02

    Permits & planning

Method chosen per section; crossings planned around constraints.

  3. 03

    Duct installation

Duct laid by trenchless crossing and route works as planned.

  4. 04

    Cable installation

Optical fibre cable installed in the prepared duct.

  5. 05

    Restoration & records

Surfaces restored and route records handed over.

03Applications

Where it is used.

  • 01

    Telecom routes

Underground duct and cable routes for telecom operators and their contractors.

  • 02

    Road crossings

Trenchless crossings where fibre routes meet roads and junctions.

  • 03

    Duct installation

HDPE duct installation ready for cable blowing or pulling.

  • 04

    Site connectivity

Fibre connectivity routes to sites, towers and network nodes.

04Execution methodology

Controlled from start to finish.

Section-by-section method
Trenchless where crossings demand it; route works where the ground allows.
Duct integrity
Duct handled, jointed and installed to protect the cable that follows.
Live-road awareness
Work sequenced to keep roads and access open wherever possible.
Route documentation
As-built information captured as the route is delivered.

07FAQ

Questions, answered.

OFC infrastructure work generally covers route survey, duct installation (by trenchless crossing or route works), cable installation within the duct, and restoration of the surface along the route.

HDD lets fibre ducts cross roads, junctions and existing services without cutting them open, reducing disruption, reinstatement work and the time a road is affected.

Yes. Acuity StoneDrill has executed telecom / OFC work for Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) through DEPL (Dinesh Engineers Limited) — including a 47.6 km OFC route between Dhaulapur, Rajakhera and Shamasabad.
